Some of my greatest childhood memories were made in the kitchen alongside my grandmother, aunts, mom and cousins. The incredible aromas of fresh basil, garlic and tomatoes filled the air as generations gathered together to share Italian traditions and authentic family recipes. It was the most delicious rite of passage.
My husband, Peter, and I both grew up in Chicago and now live in Iowa. We have two children and both work full-time. Like other busy families, we juggle a lot. However, we always make time for family dinners. Mealtime with our children is vital for keeping family ties strong and our Italian heritage alive.
